Steve A. Davis, was born April 14, 1956, in Kirbyville, Texas. He is the third of six children of Derward and Bertha Davis. He attended public schools in Port Neches, Texas. He is an Eagle Scout and received the God and Country Award.

He attended United Pentecostal Churches in Bon Weir, Port Neches and Groves, Texas. While attending Texas Bible College in Houston, Texas he was the assistant pastor to the Rev. John Mason, Jacinto City, Texas. Brother Davis has been pastor of the United Pentecostal Church, Van Buren, Arkansas since October 1981.

In June 1975, Brother Davis married the former Beth Burnett, who like himself, is a fourth generation Pentecostal. They are the parents of four children: sons Chad (Lindsey), Landon (Keri), and Carson (Bethany) and daughter Brittany (Bradley). They are the proud grandparents of fourteen grandchildren: Victoria, Pierce, Cale, Savannah, Jude, Lincoln, Levi, Landry, Madelyn, Lane, Sophie, Nolan, Elena, and Gentry.

Brother Davis received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ at a Texas church camp in Jule 1968 at Lufkin, Texas. Rev. Billy Stanley was the camp evangelist. After earning his T.H.B. from Texas Bible College in 1978, Brother Davis attended the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas until 1981. After the completion of his thesis, he received his M.R.E. in July 1986. In July 1986 he also received his diploma for Parts and Service Automative Management from General Motors University, Flint, Michigan, Arlington, Texas branch. Brother Davis attended various colleges in Arkansas while in pursuit of state certification in Secondary Education. Later, in December 2009, Brother Davis received his second master’s degree when he obtained a Master of Education from Harding University.

While serving in the ministry, Brother Davis has also held management positions in the automotive departments of K-Mart and Walmart. Later he held positions from parts manager to service director for several local new car dealerships. After an automotive career spanning from his high school days to almost twenty years later, Brother Davis made a career change. He became involved in home-remodeling and related projects. While continuing that career part time, he made another career change. Brother Davis became employed by the Van Buren School District. Twenty-nine years later Brother Davis retired in June 2022 from the district. During his employment with the school district Brother Davis held various positions and was recognized locally and at the state level for outstanding performance in his student involvement programs. Job duties through the years with the school district included: substitute teacher, custodian, bus driver, GED instructor, teacher, ALE Principal, and later Director of the ALE Elementary/Secondary program. While serving as District Attendance Director he wore several additional hats including Impact Food Distribution Director, military liaison and homeless liaison.

Brother Davis wrapped up his final year as one of the four Assistant Principals at the Van Buren High School. He was blessed to have worked with an amazing staff and student body that enabled Brother Davis and the programs to be honored.

From a humble beginning, in Bon Weir, Texas; where he lived in a happy shack with an out house at the corner of US 190 and S 1416, God has blessed beyond measure. Bro. Davis has not forgotten his roots and where he came from and is thankful for all those who helped shape his life. To Quote the Apostle Paul …."I am a debtor” Romans 1:14.
